Established in 1786, the Plainfield Congregational Church adopted the following mission statement on November 14, 2010:
We are a congregation of seekers, diverse in belief and in practice, who worship together in the unity of the Spirit.
We seek to engage the Biblical tradition and embody the teachings of Jesus Christ, striving to discern the will of God for our common life.
We are called to reach out to our neighbors in community service, to advocate and assist the growth of knowledge and wisdom, to create and share beauty, to serve all creation with compassion, generosity, justice, and mindful stewardship.
We welcome all.
